How old do I have to be to start lessons?

Strictly speaking, there is no age limit. However, for practical music lessons, Ally recommends that pupils start from age 5 onwards - after that, there's no age limit!

How often should I have music lessons?

​

For practical lessons, Ally would recommend weekly lessons with regular practice tin between. Bi-weekly lessons would be the minimum to ensure we pick up on any issues early and have regular contact.

How long should music lessons be?

​

Ally offers music lessons on an hourly or half hour basis but it totally depends on your personal preference. For the majority of Ally's clients, younger children aged 5-12 normally learn better during half hour lessons and older children/adults will learn and retain more during hour lessons.

What areas does Ally serve?

Ally can travel to your home within the Newton Mearns area. The best way to find out if there is room for lessons is to contact Ally via the contact tab or email allyforsyth@icloud.com.

Is there a cancellation fee?

​

If you have to cancel your lesson within 48 hours, there is a cancellation fee of the cost of the lesson. Eg. If your lesson is on a Friday, make sure to cancel by Wednesday morning.
